Crispy Kale Chips

Are you tired of the same old boring snacks? Looking for a healthy alternative that still satisfies your cravings? Look no further than crispy kale chips! These crunchy delights are not only delicious but also super easy to make. Let's dive into this simple yet scrumptious recipe that will have you coming back for more.

What You'll Need:

- Fresh kale leaves (washed and dried thoroughly)

- Olive oil

- Salt and pepper

- Optional: garlic powder, parmesan cheese, or any other seasonings you desire

How to Make Them:

1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). While the oven is heating up, start by removing the stems from the kale leaves and tearing them into bite-sized pieces. Remember, the smaller, the crispier!

2. In a large bowl, drizzle the kale pieces with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you fancy. Toss everything together until the kale is evenly coated.

3. Spread the kale pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet. Make sure they are not overlapping to ensure maximum crispiness.

4. Pop the baking sheet into the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the kale chips are nice and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning!

Why You'll Love Them:

- Kale chips are a guilt-free snack that satisfies your cravings without the extra calories.

- They are packed with nutrients like vitamins A, K, and C, making them a healthy alternative to traditional potato chips.

- The crispy texture and savory flavor make them addictive in the best way possible. You won't be able to stop at just one!

So, next time you're in the mood for a crunchy snack, give this crispy kale chips recipe a try. Your taste buds will thank you, and your body will too. Happy snacking!

Makes: 4 servings

Cook Time: 30 min

Calories: 47Kcal/serving

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bunch kale
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • ½ tsp Salt, or to taste
  • Seasonings if desired

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Wash and dry kale very well. Remove leaves from thick stems.
  3. Tear kale into large pieces (it will shrink as it bakes). Toss leaves with olive oil to ensure all leaves are coated but not soaked.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle with salt and other seasonings if desired.
  5. Bake 17-23 minutes or until kale is dried. Cool before serving
Notes:
    • They Shrink. Tear kale leaves a little bit bigger than you think, about palm-sized.
They will shrink as they bake.
    • Dry Well. Wash the kale but be sure to dry well (I usually wash the day before if I remember). Water will cause it to steam instead of bake.
    • Under Season. As the kale chips shrink, this means the seasoning has less surface area. This is one of the few places you'll want to season a bit less than you might think you should.
    • Light on the Oil. Adding to much oil can make these soggy, add just enough to coat. Cooking spray can be used in place of oil
    • Do Not Brown. Cook just until crisp but not browned or the flavor will turn bitter.
