Our Small-Batch Sunflower Basil Pesto starts with fresh basil grown right here at the 4Roots Farm Campus. Grown throughout our greenhouse, aquaponics system, raised garden beds, and in-ground growing areas, basil plays an important role on our farm, helping attract pollinators and support a thriving ecosystem.
When our farm produces more basil than we can sell fresh, we give that abundance a new purpose. Rather than letting it go to waste, we harvest it and transform it into delicious, small-batch pesto.
Made with farm-grown basil, sunflower seeds, extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, and a touch of salt, our pesto delivers a fresh, vibrant flavor and creamy texture. Using sunflower seeds instead of traditional pine nuts creates a delicious twist on a classic favorite.
