Grilled corn on the cob with golden char, brushed with butter and sprinkled with chili powder and cotija cheese

Few things say summer quite like fresh corn on the cob, kissed by flame and dripping with butter. This grilled corn recipe is simple, nostalgic, and just the right amount of smoky—perfect for rounding out your Stars & Stripes Grill Master Box meal.

Whether you serve it classic with butter and salt or go bold with a chili-lime street corn twist, this is the kind of side dish that disappears fast.

Ingredients (for 4 ears of corn):

  • 4 fresh ears of corn, husked

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • ½ teaspoon salt

Optional toppings:

  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder

  • Juice of ½ a lime

  • ¼ cup crumbled cotija cheese

  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Prep Steps:

  1. Remove husks and silks from the corn.

  2. Brush each ear with melted butter and sprinkle with salt.

Grill It:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400–425°F).

  2. Place corn directly on the grates and grill for 10–12 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes to get even char and golden spots.

Optional: Make It Street Corn Style

After grilling:

  • Brush with a mix of butter, lime juice, and chili powder.

  • Sprinkle with cotija cheese and chopped cilantro for an elote-inspired twist.

Serve Hot:

Whether classic or dressed up, serve the corn hot off the grill alongside burgers, chicken, or steak for the ultimate BBQ platter.
