Hot dogs are the unsung heroes of the backyard BBQ. They’re quick, nostalgic, and always a hit with kids and grown-ups alike. When made with quality all-beef franks and just the right amount of char, they’re so much more than a cookout sidekick — they’re the main event.

This simple method gives you hot dogs with crispy edges, juicy centers, and just the right snap, straight from your Stars & Stripes Grill Master Box.

Ingredients (per 4 servings):

  • 4 all-beef hot dogs

  • 4 hot dog buns

  • Optional toppings:

    • Yellow mustard

    • Sweet relish

    • Diced onions

    • Ketchup, sauerkraut, jalapeños, or whatever you love

Grill It:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 375°F).

  2. Place hot dogs directly on the grill and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning every 1–2 minutes for even char.

  3. Toast buns cut-side down on the grill for about 1 minute, just until golden.

Serve Your Way:

Layer on the toppings and let the fun begin. Classic combos like mustard and onions or ketchup and relish never fail, but feel free to get creative — think spicy mayo, pickled jalapeños, or even coleslaw.

Pro Tip:

Want to get that stadium-style spiral? Score the dogs with shallow diagonal cuts before grilling for extra texture and flavor.
